How You Remind Me fue el primer single del disco lanzado por Nickelback titulado Silver Side Up. Alcanzó el nº 1 de la lista US Billboard Hot 100 en Estados Unidos durante 4 semanas consecutivas, cosa que no hizo ningún otro grupo hasta 6 años después. Además, lideró durante 13 semanas las listas estadounidenses Mainstream Rock y Modern Rock.

Por otra parte, How You Remind Me fue la canción más escuchada en 2002 en todos los formatos (datos estadounidenses), y el disco en el que se incluye, Silver Side Up, vendió 10 millones de copias en todo el mundo.

En mi opinión, la mejor canción jamás escrita/tocada/cantada. La letra es simplemente magistral, y la voz de Chad Kroeger no hace otra cosa que convertirla en una auténtica obra maestra que todos deberíais escuchar en algún momento de vuestra vida (bueno, realmente en muchos más ;) ).

Mención aparte la versión en acústico, que hace que la canción alcance sus más altas cotas de perfección.
