Dakota fue el primer single del álbum Language. Sex. Violence. Other?, publicado en 2005 por los galeses Stereophonics. Este fue el primer single de la banda que consiguió el #1 en los charts de Reino Unido, además de ser su primera incursión en las listas de éxitos en EEUU, donde a pesar de no tener apenas fans, fue bien recibido en las radios de rock alternativo, para al final conseguir un meritorio #34 en el US Modern Rock.

Stereophonics publicaron en 2007 su último álbum (por el momento), bajo el título de Pull the Pin.
