The White Stripes esta conformada por Megan White en batería y voz, y Jack White en guitarra, piano y voz principal. Se formaron en 1997 en Detroit y su primer álbum The Withe Stripes salió dos años después. Aunque ellos siempre han declarado ser hermanos, muchas fuentes dicen que en realidad eran una pareja divorciada.

Seven Nation Army es la canción con mayor éxito de esta banda americana, gano el Gramy a mejor canción de rock y se mantuvo 4 semanas en la primera posición de la lista Modern Rock Tracks del Billboard. Se encuentra en su cuarto álbum Elephant, que ganó el Gramy al mejor disco de Rock alternativo. Este disco y en especial el siguiente Get Behind Me Satan han conseguido que este grupo tan peculiar se haya convertido en un referente en el rock alternativo actual, con unos videos muy originales y logrados (atencion a The Hardest Button to Button). En su ultimo álbum Icky Thump han probado con el castellano, podemos encontrar la versión de Conquist llamada Conquista que es su mas reciente single. También el vídeo clip del primer single llamado como el disco Icky Thump esta subtitulado en castellano. Las ultimas noticias hablan sobre un cambio de nombre a "Las Rayas Blancas" y un disco integro en castellano, tendrán que mejorar mucho la pronunciación.
