A Different Kind of Pain fue incluida en el album del mismo nombre por el grupo estadounidense Cold, y publicado en Agosto de 2005. Como segundo single del disco, obtuvo un éxito muy discreto, con un #21 en el US Mainstream Rock.

Como curiosidad, la mayor parte de las canciones del disco, incluida esta, fueron escritas por el solista, guitarrista y pianista (WoW) del grupo, Scooter Ward, en la habitación de su hermana, la cual estaba teniendo una dura y larga batalla contra el cáncer. Se cree que por tanto la temática general del disco gira en torno a esto.

Musicalmente, el tema es simplemente espectacular, con un despliegue artístico increible, una letra que llega y una puesta en escena instrumental impresionante. Un 10 para esta canción.

Este es uno de mis grupos favoritos, y es una verdadera pena que en 2006 decidieran separarse... Ojalá vuelvan algún día, aunque la calidad de los miembros del grupo sigue patente, así que seguiremos de cerca sus nuevos trabajos que hagan por separado, os mantendremos informados :P
