Inauguramos esta nueva sección de "Special Tracks", en la que se publicarán temas extra, que o bien no han sido incluidos en disco alguno, o que son versiones de otros grupos (covers), era obvio que se tenía que hacer algo así, porque hay canciones de gran calidad que cumplen estos requisitos, y no vamos a ignorarlas, claro.

Simple Man es el título de la canción original incluida en el album Pronounced Leh-Nerd Skin-Nerd, trabajo con el que debutó el grupo Lynyrd Skynyrd en el año 1973.


Los estadounidenses Shinedown, incluyeron este tema en el album Leave a Whisper, lanzado en 2003, y reeditado en 2004 para incluir esta canción y un par de versiones más.

Personalmente, me encanta, más aun viniendo de Shinedown, por la sobrenatural predisposición del solista Brent Smith a hacer una delicia musical de toda canción que interpreta. Hay más versiones de este título, por parte de, por ejemplo, Deftones (entre otros). Además, es de esas que no estropean la canción original, sino todo lo contrario.

Simple Man alcanzó el #5 en la lista de éxitos US Mainstream Rock, siendo el tercer single del album del grupo norteamericano.

Me pone los pelos de punta este título.
